Our Wishes & Needs
IMMEDIATE NEEDS
Fall 2005
FUNDS
We need to raise a total of $5000 in donations in order to care for the horses this winter, and pay off our old debt for hay and feed. This is an absolute MUST, or we can not continue at our current level, and will be forced to find other homes for many of the horses, or shut down entirely. These funds are desparately needed in order to continue to operate the farm and sanctuary. THIS IS AN EMERGENCY SITUATION We need at least half this amount by the middle of November so we can pay what we owe our hay supplier and stock up on hay, which is in short supply around here this year. In the past the hay from our own fields has lasted until the end of November. However, this year we lost much of our hay from rain during bailing, and also had to feed more during an extreme summer heat spell. It's the second week of October and we just had to start buying hay. That means we need to purchase hay for at least two additional months this year.

SPECIAL NEEDS & NOTES
We need someone to assist with our fundraising efforts. You DO NOT need to be nearby, you can do this via email and phone. PLEASE - PLEASE - PLEASE, we need someone experienced with fundraising. I cant take care of the horses, do the farming, build shelters, and still do fund raising. We need to expand our resources, and work toward getting grants and more sponsors. This is where help is needed.
We are looking for a new farm, preferably in the south-central part of Wisconsin, but we are open to relocate anywhere in the Midwest, if it offers a better situation than our present conditions. If anyone can donate land, donate the use of land, or offer an affordable farm to shelter these horses, please email us. The sooner we can relocate, the sooner we can assist more horses in need. We have a nice farm now, but the economy and lack of decent employment, and extremely poor veterinary care dictate we must relocate.
To help us with funds, be creative. You don't need to donate large amounts yourself. What if every person at your local stable donates $10. That can add up quickly, and you can make a difference. There are many other ways to raise funds, and those funds are used exclusively to help horses in need.
I'd like to get volunteers who work on a weekly schedule to assist the horses. How about you?
I'd like to get more groups to directly work with the horses, and use some of them for programs, such as 4H.
Please help us out if you can.
